Kühl Wheels developed a patented, lightweight steel wheel technology and licensed the technology to Hayes Lemmerz International for high volume OEM applications.

Developed as the alternative steel wheel, the Kühl Wheel combines the durability and damage resistance of steel with the lightweight and airy, spoke-like spider of an alloy wheel. Kühl Wheels are up to 20% lighter and offer more styling flexibility than conventional steel wheels because of their unique spider (center section) comprised of a series of rectangular spokes.

Under license from Kühl Wheels, LLC, Hayes Lemmerz International designed the production Kühl Wheel with single piece, conventionally stamped, sheet steel center attached to a standard rolled or spun steel rim. Hayes Lemmerz International has successfully adapted the Kühl Wheels technology for several OEM applications.
